World-renowned tenor Anthony Kearns is returning to Long Island this Friday March 2nd to kick off the Irish season at St. Joseph’s Church – 59 Church Street, Kings Park, New York — for a concert starting at 7:30 p.m
Anthony Kearns is a world-famed singer who is a member of the PBS super-Group, The Irish Tenors. He and Tenors are ranked no. 3 on PBS. He has a robust international singing career – having performed for three US Presidents, Pope Francis and the chair of the Joint Chiefs.
The program will feature “literally something for everyone”– with favorite tenor songs, holiday favorites—and of course, beautiful music from Ireland.
Mr. Kearns first took the American television audience by storm in 1999 as the youngest member of The Irish Tenors, with whom he has five PBS Specials and 10 CDs, many of which went gold, platinum and double-platinum.
Kearns’ solo career includes high-profile celebrity engagements, major television appearances and concerts, leading operatic roles, and collaborations with the world’s finest orchestras. He has performed for three U.S. Presidents, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and for Pope Francis I at the pre-Mass Concert in Philadelphia. He recently sang at the 9/11 National Memorial Museum Gala at the invitation of Chairman and former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
He won Ireland’s Search for a Tenner – similar to American Idol – that thrust him into international fame. He was considered to be a “Singing Barman” and literally dialed his way in and won the semi-finals over the phone!
Great story of inspiration – he won the national contest with “The Impossible Dream.”
Tickets are $40 per person. They are available online at Eventbrite.com (search Anthony Kearns) or call Deanna at 631.269.6635, extension 218 (until Noon Friday). Tickets avail for purchase at the door.
