Attention all food establishments!!!
Great news – the town of smithtown has just approved emergency temporary outdoor dining effective immediately and expiring november 1, 2020. There is no application fee and the town has promised to fast-track all permits and has committed to a three-day turnaround! This will help tremendously in increasing the total seating capacity for dining during the remainder of the covid-19 emergency measures.
We urge all food establishments in the town of smithtown to apply for outdoor dining to help maintain business. Click on the link below to fill out the application online or download it and email back to planning department.
We are very excited about this. It will go a long way to being able to accommodate many more diners than under present covid-19 limited seating capacity.
More than that, I’m envisioning lots of summer evenings dining outside leisurely like so many vacation spots. Or taking the whole family out for a dinner and having it feel like you’re away. Those patio heaters for a little chill in the air can work great and add to the overall ambiance. Throw in a planter or two and voila, a destination!
Follow the instructions below to fill out the application or contact me at email@example.com or 631`-269-7678.
Anyone interested in this needs to complete the 1 page fillable form along with a marked-up plan, survey, or aerial depicting where the outdoor dining area will be located. There is no fee for the application. The application will be distributed digitally and reviewed internally by Planning, Building, DEW, Engineering and the Fire Marshall. We promised to have them reviewed within 3 business days. The permit for all temporary dining areas will expire on November 1, 2020.
The guidelines for the dining are included with the application form.
We will do whatever we can to assist businesses interested in Temporary Outdoor Accommodations.
The application can be dropped off in the vestibule of the Planning Department or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
